At the age of 15, Amuro, along with a group of classmates, formed the pop group known as the Super Monkeys. Although moderately successful in their home prefecture, Okinawa, a move to Tokyo (presumably at the behest of their record label, Toshiba EMI) garnered more exposure for the Super Monkeys, and Namie in particular, so much that the group came to be known as 'Namie Amuro with Super Monkeys'. Pesch was a member of the group Snakebite, but in 1983 she left the band to join the band Warlock. In 1987, after Warlock`s fourth album, Triumph And Agony, and after many line-up changes within the band Doro Pesch remained as the only original member of Warlock. Her ten year contract with polygram expired in 1995, after which she singed with WEA (Now Warner Music Group).
