This morning, the island of Haiti shook once again. As if it wasn't enough the first time. A 6.1 magnitude aftershock struck the island this morning. An elderly lady was quoted saying this morning "this morning, we... ran into the street" after running out of her tent which now resides outside her damaged house. Although this isn't the first aftershock to strike, it's the one that is being talked about. My good friend, who has family over in Haiti says, "nothing really happend, because everything is already destroyed". A statement that sounds so nonchalant, but has a sad meaning. "What you s....

After reading this report, I can honestly say I am dumbfounded by this news. I am not of Haitian descent, I am Cuban. I have many Haitian friends and I can only imagine what they must be going through. Hospitals collapsing? The Tax collectors office collapsing (this might be a good thing in a tragic event)? It is so overwhelming, that I am in a loss for words. A major earthquake has hit the island of Haiti. This will go down as one of the worst events in 2010 already due to it being 7.0 on the Richter scale. As we all know, Haiti isn't a well-structured island when it comes to buildings and houses. All we can do is pray for the best.
