Sevara Nazarkhan (original Uzbek spelling Sevara Nazarxon) is an Uzbek singer, songwriter, and musician. She was born 1978 in Andijan city, Uzbek SSR, Soviet Union. She started her career in the music industry by being part of the group Sideris. The director was Mansur Tashmatov Uzbek, a producer and musician. The group consisted of four girls. When she later went solo, she gained more popularity. The instrument she plays is the doutar, a form of medieval Central Asian lute. She does not make just national folk music, but combines it with modern music. She has received critical acclaim for her 2003 album Yol Bo'lsin, which French producer Hector Zazou worked on. She also provided vocals for the 2005 Afro Celt Sound System album, Volume 5: Anatomic. She also received the Best Asian Artist award from BBC Radio 3. Sevara sings both in Uzbek and Russian. In 2009 she released another hit music called "А Он Не Пришёл" (And he didn't come) in Russian.
