First off, thanks for taking the time to answer a portion of GLOBALHITMUSIC.COM endless list of questions. How did you turn into the person that is Dj Dephtone today?
No problem. I started Djing around the age of 13, I would play at house parties and keg parties in the Miami area. Then by the time I was 15 I was spinning all over South Beach and started building a name. Rest is history..
What are your tactics in making your self known and remembered across the country?
I make classic mixtapes period. You can pick some of those up at your local Best Buy or Target.
Name some projects that you have been involved with in the past year?
I have a award winning and MTV acclaimed mixtape series called "The Product". I released "The Product 6" with Gorilla Zoe and "The Product 7" with Trick Daddy in 2009. Along with various other tittles with a few different up and coming artists. "The Product 8" with Young Dro coming soon!! "MIAliens" mixtape coming soon!!
What’s the best event you’ve played at/put on?
I mean the most memorable would have to be in 1999 I was maybe 18 at the time and was DJing along side DJ Khaled at Salvation night club on South Beach. It was a Big Punisher concert and Wyclef Jean ended up performing as well. It was a dope experience, I ended up meeting Pun, Fat Joe and Clef. It was crazy Pun shut it down. A few months later he passed so I guess that night always sticks out to me.
What current recording artist is an inspiration to the future of your recording career?
Im inspired by everything, all genres of music. New and old artists, my environment, everything im exposed to inspires me.
What do you bring to the turntable that no other Dj has?
When it comes to mixtapes im bringing the raw real music. Im not a internet dj or one of these djs breaking into emails or hacking computers and jacking artists music. Every mixtape I release I do directly with the artist. So I bring exclusivity straight from the studio working along side the artist. As far as the party I bring a vibe, an upscale feel.. good music period.
How do you see the Dj scene 5 years from now?
At this point after Djs like Craze and AM who knows..
What advice would you give to up and coming Dj's/MC's?
Keep you integrity and when people around you tell you music isn't a job or a career, google my name..
Any shouts you would like to make?
Shot to Mage at Inkedpro.com and shot to everyone following my career. Big shot to all my tight people in the industry and my inner circle who help Dephtone keep this movement going everyday!!!
Again i would like to thank DJ Dephtone for taking time out of his busy schedule and for leting all the GLOBAL HIT MUSIC viewers know about all the up coming work and the past work you have acomplished. GLOBAL HIT MUSIC wishes you the best in your career and would like to see more of DJ Dephtone in the near future!
